Welcome to the
East Midlands Integrated Stroke Delivery Network
Supporting the development of high-quality and equitable stroke treatment and rehabilitation services in the East Midlands, to achieve the best outcomes and experience for patients.
Integrated Stroke Delivery Networks (ISDNs) are the key vehicle for transforming stroke care across the country. The NHS Long Term Plan (2019) recognised the growing impact of stroke in England, placing stroke as a clinical priority and moved to set up 20 ISDNs across the country.
The ISDNs work by bringing key stakeholders together to help prevent thousands of patients suffering a stroke, through improved diagnosis and access to treatment in 24/7 specialist stroke units, and increase the availability of high quality rehabilitation and ongoing community care to rebuild patients’ lives after a stroke.
Here in the East Midlands, our key focus areas include:
The East Midlands ISDN is hosted by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) and we are very grateful to them for their valuable support. We work closely with the other Midlands ISDN teams West Midlands Integrated Stroke Delivery Network (uhb.nhs.uk), as well as maintaining close links with neighbouring ISDNs in Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire.
